Yiming Tang was born in 1982 and received his Ph.D. degree from School of Computer and Information, Hefei University of Technology in 2011. He is now a Professor in Hefei University of Technology, and is also a visiting professor at University of Alberta, Canada. He is engaged in computer science and mathematics. His current research interests include Clustering, Fuzzy reasoning, Fuzzy system, Social systems, Cognitive system, Machine learning, Image processing, Affective computing, Computer-aided design.
He is an Associate Editor of Information Sciences, an Associate Editor of Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, an Associate Editor of IEEE Access, a member of Editorial Board of PLOS ONE, a Lead Guest Editor of Symmetry, an Associate Board Member of CAAI Transactions on Intelligent Systems, an Associate Editor of Journal of Mathematics and Informatics, and a member of Editorial Board of Mathematics and Computer Science, and also a senior member of CCF (China Computer Federation), a senior member of CAAI (Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence), and a member of IEEE. He was awarded an IEEE Access Outstanding Associate Editor of 2021.
He is a reviewer of more than 40 journals such as IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, and IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence. He servers as a Program Committee of more than 10 conferences (e.g., AAAI).
He is the Chairperson of the Organizing Committee of 2015 Symposium of Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent Computing. He serves as a Standing Committee of Non-classical Logic and Computing of Chinese Society of Logic, an Executive Committee of Cooperative Computing of CCF, a Professional Committee of Machine Learning of CAAI, a Professional Committee of Granular Computing and Knowledge Discovery of CAAI, and a Professional Committee of Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals of CAAI.
He has published more than 80 papers in many journals and conferences (including IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence, Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, and so forth).
He has presided over more than 10 scientific research projects, which include the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program), National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Program), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (Special Fund), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (General Program), Natural Science Foundation of Anhui Province, Innovative Foundation of Yong Teachers of Hefei University of Technology and so on. He also participated in the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the Key Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China (rank 3rd), National High-Tech Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) and so forth.
